SSVP Information Day with DIBP

NEAS joined a group of interested international education providers to gain an insight into how the new visa processing system will operate.

Of particular interest to our readers will be the conclusion to the old ELICOS visa category, with only visa class 500 to be issued to students from July 1.   Visa 500 will combine all students, be they Higher Education, Vocational, School or ELICOS students.

NEAS Benchmarking ... Did You Know... ?

NEAS Benchmarking is launching at this year's NEAS conference with some fascinating data to be shared with the industry.  The results are sure to surprise and delight our NEAS Quality Endorsed stakeholders.  For instance did you know...?

  • NEAS has conducted over 17,000 anonymous surveys of Australian ELICOS stakeholders (students, teachers and other ELT professionals) in the past 12 months
  • Focus groups have been held with 200 ELT centres, challenging and validating the findings of the survey responses collected
  • Existing views of quality in the sector are being re-examined with this new data coming to light

At the NEAS Conference we'll be looking at what the ELT sector does well, and at areas that can be improved, in a dedicated plenary session.

UECA PD Fest, May 2016 - Sponsored by NEAS

NEAS is proud to be UECA's primary financial supporter of the UECA PD fest!

University English Language Centres of Australia (UECA) (click to register) and UNSW Institute of Languages, in celebration of its 50th anniversary, present PD Fest Sydney 2016.  This full day of professional development includes opening and closing keynotes, three streams of 45-minute workshops, exhibitor space, lunch, networking opportunities and an early evening social event.

The theme of the PD Fest, The Force Awakens - Empowering Students and Teachers, is aimed at providing professional development for teachers by teachers at UECA and NEAS member institutions.

Well Done to Our Western Australian Quality English Language Teaching Centres!

Kaplan International English Colleges have again shown NEAS how well they can do it, with an amazing Quality Endorsement result from their Perth centre in April.

High on the positive feedback was "caring staff and a great student experience". Congratulations to Peter Rogers, Nicki Blake and team!

The University of Western Australia Centre for English Language Teaching is also a centre for excellence, based on our recent Quality Assurance assessment.

Callum Cowell and his professional team also recently supported the PD West event, proving their commitment to raising the regional quality bar. Fabulous work, guys!
