Launch of the public consultation on indicators to monitor climate-resilient WASH

A WHO and UNICEF Webinar

Wednesday 23 April 9:00 – 10:00am CEST and 4:00 – 5:00pm CEST

Climate-related hazards, shocks and stresses present a growing threat to drinking-water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services. In 2024, WHO and UNICEF launched a review to identify indicators for enhanced national and global monitoring of climate resilient WASH. The results will inform future global monitoring by the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (JMP) and the UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS). More information about the project can be found here.

WHO and UNICEF held global webinars in July 2024 to launch the review and in February 2025 to present initial findings from the review of existing frameworks and evidence. This third webinar, on 23 April 2025, will provide an update on the review process and officially launch the public consultation on the emerging long list of potential indicators for monitoring climate-resilient WASH.

  • Register for the 9:00 – 10:00am CEST session here.
  • Register for the 4:00 – 5:00pm CEST session here.
