May 13-17 was Career Week for the third grade class. Many interesting speakers came to talk to the classes about their chosen careers. Each speaker gave a 20-30 minute talk with a question and answer session at the end. Our visitors included doctors, nurses, scientist, accountants, sales people, bankers, and many more.
The speakers were: John Maloney (investment advisor), Mary Maloney (nursing), Master Scarsella (taekwondo), Scott Bailey (insurance), Tammy Bond (social work/Christian counseling), Frank Norman (Air Force), Jeremy Norman (IT security), Melissa Hull (real estate), Kristie Ford (speech pathologist), Deputy Debbie Sumrall (law enforcement), Ann Bond (laboratory), Bobby Picou (information technology), Bob Picou (lime industry), Jacob Ford (college student/lab technician), Janna Suellentrop (pediatric OR nurse), Lindsay Gill (forensic accounting & fraud examination), Austin Suellentrop (professional coaching), William Gill (injury/special needs braces). Matt Parker (medicine), Todd Bond (architecture), Linda Blake (heart arrhythmia), Keith Deakle (student financial services) and Father Alan Mackey (priesthood).
Many of the guest speakers brought little surprises for the children. The class was very appreciative. On Friday of Career Week the children got to dress in the clothing of their favorite career that they think they might want to be when they grow up. It was a great week enjoyed by all! Ms. Martinez was very thankful to all the parents, family members and friends who shared their time with the children during this special week.
