Waterlow Hall

Back in 2017, when I joined South Hampstead, we had a vision to complete the original masterplan for the Senior School and create a 'jewel' at the heart of the school - a place to showcase our music, drama, debating and academic learning. Two years on and we have made such great progress; I am delighted to announce that we have now appointed a contractor to start work on the final transformation of our Waterlow Hall.

We still need to raise £500,000 to secure the completion of the project, but I want to thank you all for the support and enthusiasm you have shown so far. It is a result of your belief and generosity that we have been able to move so quickly and reach this final stage. Today, I made my own commitment to our Waterlow Hall Campaign and I invite everyone now to join with me and support this crucial final phase so that we can open the doors to our new Waterlow Hall in early 2020.

This appointment coincides with the arrival of our new Director of Finance and Operations, Mr Robert Jones, who will work with the GDST estates team, architects and our project manager to ensure the smooth delivery of this project. Work will start in July.

2019 Leavers

Each year, we invite those who are leaving South Hampstead to consider donating their original registration deposit to our development funds. This year, the 2019 leavers from across the school have made generous contributions to our Waterlow Hall Campaign and bursary funds. The names of all those who donate in this way will be added to our Map of Stars with our thanks.

We are delighted that so many alumnae and former staff have got involved with our campaign. One group of alumnae are raising money to purchase a seat for a favourite member of staff from the 1960s.
