Coronavirus Updates and Resources

As of Monday 7 December 2020:

  • Up to 100 people can gather outdoors in a public space
  • Up to 3,000 people can gather for community sport (subject to the 2 square metre rule).

An updated COVID-19 SLS Activity Matrix, updated COVID-19 Safety Plans and updated COVID-19 Information Packs for Lifesaving, Junior Activities and Sport (and Summary of Changes) are now available on the SLSNSW website.

Also as of Monday 7 December 2020:

  • All hospitality venues are allowed to have one person per two square metres indoors (except for gyms where the one person per four square metre rule still applies, with a maximum of 50 people per gym classes).
  • Dance floors are permitted for up to 50 people indoors.
  • Maximum capacity gaps for the following have been removed, subject to the two square metre rule:
    • Bookings at hospitality venues
    • Weddings
    • Funerals
    • Corporate events.

Clubs are advised to update their COVID-19 Safety Plans to reflect these new requirements.

Surf Life Saving NSW has partnered with NSW Police, Royal Life Saving NSW and Northern Beaches Council to create a new water safety video to help save international students from drowning on the NSW coastline this summer.

Club Lifesaving Equipment Grants Reimbursement - Open Now!

Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant reimbursements are now open for clubs who have paid all their supplier invoices relating to goods ordered through the Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant (CLEG).

Please email Laura Schuetz copies of paid invoices, along with copy of proof of payment/remittance advices, and a club invoice made out to Surf Life Saving NSW for the full voucher amount. Once received we can commence reimbursement.

Head Above Water 24 Hour Swimathon

The Head Above Water 24 Hour Swimathon, proudly supporting Gotcha4Life, will be held at the Collaroy Rockpool, starting at 8am on Saturday March 20 and finishing at 8am on Sunday March 21, 2021. Early bird entries are now open for a limited time only at the special price of $20 for an individual swimmer. Get your mates together and help raise money for a great cause, aiming to build mentally fit communities on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Grants & Fundraising

 

Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
