Summer Emergency Distance Education (DE) TrainingThe District is offering emergency summer training to help instructors understand legal requirements for online teaching. The training includes three, two-hour workshops available asynchronously or synchronously via ConferZoom: Canvas, Legal Issues, Course Design throughout June and July The three workshops require two hours of homework. The District has negotiated with both COSTA and COSAFA to provide instructors with compensation for eight hours upon completion of the three workshops. DE Training FAQCompleting the full Online Teaching Certificate Program (OTCP)The Course Design and Legal Issues workshops count toward the full certification for online teaching. If one wants to complete the full certification after finishing the Course Design and Legal Issues workshops, one can be enrolled in a four-hour asynchronous Finishing the OTCP workshop. Contact Dr. Nolan to be enrolled. The full certification is required for assignment to a regularly scheduled DE course.
