Taking shape

Finally it would appear that the rains are clearing and the first tangible signs of The Link — Ginninderry's new multi-purpose centre are starting to show. The structural wall framing has arrived on site and construction is on track for early next year. Meanwhile, offsite planning continues for works in the first stage of development, the Murrumbidgee River Corridor conservation area (and associated Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation approval) and the proposed NSW rezoning.

  First release coming soon

We are hoping to receive planning approval in early 2017 for the first 350 homes to be located in the new suburb of Strathnairn. The Estate Development Plan documents have recently been re-lodged to key agencies for review and subject to endorsement, will be placed on public notification before final consideration by the Planning Authority. Pending approvals, we are planning our first sales release in April 2017.

The first stage of development will showcase a wide range of living options and planning has now been finalised for our Display Village. It will comprise 15 local builders in what will be the largest display village in Canberra. The Village will include both detached and attached homes that will meet a minimum 7 star EER, with many displaying a range of other sustainable housing initiatives and innovative design solutions.  Subject to timing of approvals we hope to open the display village in early 2018.

Riverview Developments CEO David Maxwell said Ginninderry has community consultation at the core of its approach.

“Our community consultation method is based on a genuine respect for the community and the natural environment,” Mr Maxwell said. “It is absolutely transparent in engaging with the community and is complemented by a strong desire to involve the community in plans for the long-term future and vision of Ginninderry”.
