How to Prepare for the Career Fair Credit to VetCor Career Fair readiness – as easy as it sounds, it really is that simple! Thinking about career fairs and the potential interactions can be overwhelming but if you are ready in advance, there is no need to be stressed. When preparing for a career fair and meeting potential employers, there are a few key points that should be noted: 1. Dress to Impress – This does not mean that you need to be the bell of the ball or dress like James Bond (even though that would make you stand out!), it just means that coming prepared in a well, put together outfit that you would be comfortable going to a job interview in is your best bet. You are coming to show off what you have, putting a nice bow on the package never hurts! 2. Bring Your “A Game” – No one is expecting you to be a resident expert on all topics medical, but they are expecting you to be the resident expert on you! Having copies of your resume ready to go with all of your experience is very important, this will help potential employers not only remember you, but also see that you are prepared! Plus you went through all of these classes, externships, and experiences for a reason so make sure you showcase that! 3. Come Ready to Talk – We want to get to know you! This is not scary at all, every employer is extremely excited to meet you. Come ready to talk about your best subject – yourself! No one knows you better than you do, show it off! 4. Its Your Future! – At the end of the day, this is your bright future and it is an exciting time. Make sure you have questions developed about the work culture, benefits offered, room for growth and opportunity, and most importantly the mentorship you can receive. See? Career fairs are easy to navigate so be sure you go through your checklist, put on your Sunday best, and be ready to meet us! Please stop by to meet us at VetCor, as well! We will be at our booth with more information about the company, our nationwide locations, and all of our opportunities. We are excited to meet you!
