Grand Final Friday public holiday opening hours and timetable
The AFL Grand Final is almost upon us and there will be altered opening hours and group fitness classes for the public holiday on Friday 28 September.

Challenge yourself to our circuit and WIN!
This gym challenge, we wanted to try something different. So we asked Gym/Group fitness instructor Troy to come up with a circuit-style challege for you all!
You don't have to be the fastest or best to win – just complete the workout to earn your entry into the prize draw.
The challenge is on for the whole month of September. Check out the events at Richmond, Collingwood and Fitzroy and don't forget to share your results with us on social using #YarraLeisure.
Podium finishes for Yarra Tri in duathlon series
The Yarra Triathlon Club competed in the Victorian Duathlon Series over the weekend with some podium finishes and impressive results.

Xavier Meade competed in the Burnley Half Marathon and beat his PB by two minutes, finishing with a time of 1:16:00.

September school holiday program
School holidays are fast approaching! If you're looking for a fun activity to fast track your child's swimming, don't miss the Learn to Swim holiday program.
The 4-day program runs from Monday 24 to Thursday 27 September with classes from 9.30am and 12pm each day at Richmond and Collingwood.

Freestyle your way to stronger swimming form
Looking to improve your front crawl to get the most out of your swimming?
Our five-week freestyle stroke improvement course uses a wide variety of progressive drills to improve freestyle technique and endurance. Each week our swimming coaches will guide you through an aspect of the freestyle stroke to build your technique and efficiency.
Sessions start in two weeks and run in the evenings on Tuesdays at Collingwood, Wednesdays at Richmond and Thursdays at Fitzroy.

Meet a trainer: James Kambelos

With warmer weather just around the corner, now is the perfect time to get back into the swing of things or fast track your results with personal training!
James Kambelos is one of our new personal trainers and is impressively experienced – he is a qualified exercise scientist with ESSA Australia, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Deakin University and is currently studying a Master’s Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology. On top of this, he competed in martial arts at a national level and has previously worked as a strength and conditioning coach at a soccer club.
James specialises in strength, muscle hypertrophy, fat loss, injury rehab and injury prevention, and he believes personalised programs, close monitoring and safely instructed technique helps get the best results.
James is taking new clients at Yarra Leisure, so if you’re interested in personal training with him or one of our other team members, head to our website or chat to our reception staff.

Walk to School Program
Walk to School 2018 is just around the corner. The Walk to School program encourages Victorian primary school students to walk, ride or scoot to and from school.
Walk to School is all about making active travel fun, easy, safe and accessible for Victorian primary school kids to help them build healthy habits for life and achieve the recommended 60 minutes of physical exercise per day.
Join hundreds of schools across Victoria from Monday 8 October to Friday 2 November by getting your children's school registered. Participating students have the chance to win great regional prizes which are soon to be announced!
