Welcome to Professor Graeme Alexander as the new President of BASL

Mark Hudson, our outgoing President has great pleasure in welcoming Graeme to his new role.  He expressed  that 'Graeme will bring a new energy to the role of BASL President and is the ideal person to take the society forward.'

New format for the Newsletter

In order to publish the Newsletter in a format that is easy for members to browse the following changes have been made:

  • Only news items, job adverts  and articles of interest will appear on the Newsletter.
  • This will be followed two weeks later with an Update Bulletin which has information and links to meetings and events.

We hope that you see the new format as an improved method of keeping our members up to date with current information.

BASL Ward membership

Ward membership of BASL for nurses will be implemented with the next round of annual renewals in January 2016.  More information will be published when it is available.

Voting for BASL Research Committee Chair

The Research Committee Chair is elected by the membership to serve for a period of up to three years.
Nominations have been recieved and a survey will be sent out next week to all BASL members to vote.
 

Flu vaccination reminder

PHE would like to issue a reminder to consultants to recommend to  their patients with chronic liver disease that they ensure that they are vaccinated against flu annually through the general practice as they are at increased risk.

MRC Research Board and Panel Recruitment 2016

MRC are currently advertising for new members to serve on Funding Boards and Panels from 1st April 2016.
