National minimum wage raised by 20p an hour

The government has announced that the national minimum wage will increase by 20p per hour to £6.70 from 1 October 2015. The rise, which amounts to 3%, will benefit over 1.4 million low-paid workers and is the biggest real time rise in seven years.
