On behalf of the Surf Life Saving NSW Board and the Surf Life Saving Services Board, I would like to wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and New Year.
Please note this will be the last edition of Club Mail for 2020. The next edition will be sent on Thursday 7 January 2021. The SLSNSW office will be closed from 25 December 2020 and re-opening on Monday 4 January 2021.
Surf Life Saving NSW Brings the Beach to the Bush
In response to research that highlighted 50 percent of people rescued from the surf live more than 50km from the beach, volunteer surf lifesavers have been visiting schools in rural and remote areas of NSW for the last 26 years to educate primary school students about beach safety as a part of Surf Life Saving NSW’s iconic Beach to Bush initiative.
Top Lifesavers Selected for Leadership Program
Eight up-and-coming NSW surf lifesavers have been selected to attend the 2021 Surf Life Saving Australia National Leadership College - the development program for aspiring leaders.
Newly Renovated Coogee Surf Life Saving Club Opens
On its 113th birthday on 13 December 2020, Coogee Surf Life Saving Club celebrated the official opening of its new clubhouse after undergoing the largest renovation in the club’s history.

Club Lifesaving Equipment Grants Reimbursement - Open Now!
Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant reimbursements are now open for clubs who have paid all their supplier invoices relating to goods ordered through the Club Lifesaving Equipment Grant (CLEG).
Please email Laura Schuetz copies of paid invoices, along with copy of proof of payment/remittance advices, and a club invoice made out to Surf Life Saving NSW for the full voucher amount. Once received we can commence reimbursement.

ClubsNSW Clubs & Community Awards - Submissions Open Until 22 January 2021
The Clubs & Community Awards are an opportunity to share the stories, celebrate them and recognise the outstanding contributions made by clubs. Encompassing all activities and initiatives from March 2019 to December 2020 (all stories submitted in the postponed year will be rolled over into the 2021 program).

An update on the current planning for the 2021 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships is now available on our website. Entry Nominations will open on Monday 21 December and close on Wednesday 20 January at 11pm. The Entry Nomination circular will be published on the event page on Monday 21 December, please ensure that you refer to the event page for up-to-date event information.
Head Above Water 24 Hour Swimathon
The Head Above Water 24 Hour Swimathon, proudly supporting Gotcha4Life, will be held at the Collaroy Rockpool, starting at 8am on Saturday March 20 and finishing at 8am on Sunday March 21, 2021. Get your mates together and help raise money for a great cause, aiming to build mentally fit communities on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
