VAT payment deferral ended on 30th June. Direct debits need to be reinstated.

The deferral of VAT payments, due to coronavirus, came to an end on 30th June. Businesses need to take action to reinstate their direct debit mandates. Unfortunately, this cannot be done by DRG and you will need to use your Government Gateway login details to set up the new direct debit. Please ensure you reinstate your direct debit mandate at least 3 working days before you submit your online VAT return, otherwise the payment will not be taken from your bank account in time.

From now onwards, you will need to submit VAT returns as normal and pay the VAT in full on any payments due after 30th June. Any VAT payments you have deferred between 20th March and 30th June will need to be paid in full on or before 31st March 2021. Read more

UK residential property sales. Capital Gains Tax now due within 30 days of completion

The payment deadline for Capital Gains Tax on the sale of residential property in the UK has changed. From the 6th April 2020, all UK and non-UK resident individuals who sell residential property in the UK must inform HMRC of the gain and pay any Capital Gains Tax due within 30 days of completion of the sale. Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme - claims deadline 31st July 2020

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) claims for periods ending on or before 30th June 2020 must be made by 31st July 2020. After this date it will not be possible to make claims for these periods. Employers need to have made a claim on or before 31st July to be able to make a claim for July or for future months. Read more
