April 2018 EASTER IS NOT JUST A DAY! Did you know that it is still Easter? Easter is a season of the church year that lasts until Pentecost. We get to continue to celebrate the joyful news that Christ is risen! In fact, even apart from the season of Easter, we consider every Sunday (even the Sundays in Lent!) a mini-Easter. Every Sunday we gather to celebrate the Lord’s Day and proclaim the good news that Christ is alive! In the face of fear and death and discouragement, we defiantly declare that fear and death are not the last word. Love wins. Hope wins. Life wins. God wins. In this season of Easter, I invite you to ask God to give you eyes to see resurrection life around you. Ask God to bring new life the parts of your life and our world that are dead. This is the mystery of our faith: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. Easter Blessings, Pastor Kari EASTER SUNDAY MORNING Breakfast 9:00 Easter Egg Hunt 10:00 Easter Worship with Communion 10:30 Excerpt from "The latest Spirit Soundings for Holy Week" by Rev. Ruth Faith Santana-Grace "This is the holiest of weeks, where the sounds of hope again collide with the sounds of denial and fear. But we cannot get to Easter morning without wrestling and dealing with the sounds of unrest that lead us to the discomfort and guilt of the darkest night when, for a while, it appeared that death and violence had the final word. This is just a hard week. It should be!" It should be! MUSIC DEPARTMENT NEWS East Falls Presbyterian Church welcomes back trumpet player John Sham for our Easter Sunday Worship on April 1, 2018. The Chancel Choir will be singing two pieces with trumpet accompaniment. Introit: Alleluia! Christ is Risen by Christopher Wordsworth, Jane Holstein and Joel Raney.
