NEAS Quality Assured colleges feature in Study Travel Magazine

We celebrate our first 60 Quality Endorsed members in the coming February issue of Study Travel magazine. Throughout 2015 NEAS will be celebrating a history of 25 years of quality assurance and accreditation support to providers of English language teaching in the Australasian region.

Mark Raven CEO stated that “it is critical that the world understands the unique heritage that NEAS brings to quality in ELT.  By incorporating stakeholder feedback, NEAS has bought 21st century principles to quality assurance.”

All NEAS centres will feature in the coming (at no charge) as they progress through to becoming quality assured

AMEP Moves from Dept. of Industry to Dept. of Education

In a Machinery of Government move resulting (in part) from the cabinet reshuffle in December 2014, the AMEP programme has been relocated to be managed through the newly created Commonwealth Department of Education and Training.  Its business as usual though for NEAS and AMEP providers.

Welcome back to NEAS News and it seems that 2015 promises to be a big year in ELT in Australia.   NEAS has with a number of major initiatives underway with the NEAS conference planning and preparation well underway, new collaborative agreements being sealed and the NEAS Quality Learning Series calendar booked and posted.

Of first interest is the ongoing process of quality assuring NEAS members in the new 360 degree feedback model of QA.  With the first 60 centres through, NEAS aims to have all local and offshore providers QA’ed for the close of 2015 – another 140 centres no less!

A key output of 2014, this year will see NEAS promoting the Quality Assurance Language Education Network (QALEN) to a larger significance, with participation from respected leading Quality Assurance agencies from around the world.

Furthermore, NEAS will continue to build its relationships with ASQA, TEQSA, ACPET, English Australia, TAFE Directors and AIEE.  Other plans include marketing representation for NEAS’ members at ANZA ICEF in Auckland, ALPHE London and ICEF Berlin.

Mark Raven, NEAS Chief Executive stated that “We recognise that providers have differing needs, and by getting closer to the industry we have been able to identify and respond to those needs.. NEAS’ goal is to drive value back to those members that invest in Quality whether through our free PD, government representation, peak body partnerships and global relationships.
