NSW Surf Life Saving Clubs to Receive $4m in Development Grant FundingThe funding of grants between $30,000 and $350,000 has been made as part of the Surf Club Facility Program, which provides grants for the upgrade, restoration or construction of Surf Life Saving facilities. Massive Multi-Agency Search and Rescue Operations Wins Rescue of the Month AwardAn emergency incident response over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June was the largest co-ordinated and resourced search and rescue operation in the history of Surf Life Saving Illawarra. Blackroll Activation and Recovery SeriesThe BLACKROLL and Surf Life Saving NSW Activation and Recovery Series is here to teach surf lifesavers the benefits of rolling and trigger work using rollers, balls and bands. AnnouncementsReturn to Sport Grant FundingSLSNSW has secured a $1,000 grant from the Office of Sport for each of our surf clubs to assist in rebooting surf sports. These grants are fully acquittable back to the Office of Sport. To assist in compiling this information, SLSNSW will be sending a JotForm link to each Club President for them to attach all relevant receipts and a short description of what you have allocated the grant towards. SLSNSW is planning on forwarding the grant funding to clubs in the week beginning 3 August and ask any clubs who choose to opt out of the program to contact Jake Lynch (SLSNSW Sports Officer) by Friday 31 July 2020. If your club opts out, SLSNSW will not remit the grant to your club. If we have not heard from you prior to this date, we will assume your club wishes to receive the grant and accepts the associated acquittal requirements. Upcoming Events Lifesavers to Row 24 Hours for Mental Health After the success of the Avalon Beach 24 Hour Row over the past two years, the event is expanding in 2020 with a total of 14 Surf Life Saving Clubs signing on to row and raise money and awareness for mental health charities Gotcha4Life and One Eighty this August. Grants & Fundraising Collect Containers For Your ClubIf your Club is registered with Envirobank you can continue to raise money for your club during the off-peak season! Envirobank supplies clubs with collection bags that members can take home and return once filled with containers. Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU).
