MFA '09 Tyrone Brown Headed to Lesotho, South Africa

Tyrone Brown, MFA’09, has been accepted into the Peace Corps, and will be heading to Lesotho, South Africa in late September for a two year and three month stint as a primary English teacher. Tyrone is currently the Interim Director in the Office of Multicultural Affairs at SeattleU. His last day at Seattle University will by July 31, 2019. Congrats Tyrone, we’ll miss you!

Arts Leadership Salary Discussions Continue with POWarts Survey

The Professional Organization for Women in the Arts (POWarts) recently published their 2019 Salary Survey. The sample of 997 participants illustrates the salaries of arts leaders across age, gender, years of experience, education level, and sector. You can read the full survey findings on POWarts's website.

Association of Art Museum Directors Urge for Paid Internships

“Providing paid internships is an important step for the art museum field in creating and sustaining a diverse, equitable, accessible, and inclusive set of opportunities, said Jill Medvedow, Co-Chair of AAMD’s Professional Issues committee and director of the ICA Boston. Events

INKED at Columbia City Gallery

Visit Columbia City Gallery on Saturday, June 29 from 5-7 PM for the artists reception for their summer exhibition, INKED. Member print makers Tina Albro, Annie Lewis, Joan Mamelok and Jueun Shin explore the different genres of printmaking including work in 3D. The show is open through August 11.

The Champagne Widow

Did you have the chance to attend MFA '19 David Kisan's summary project presentation, Death by Dinner: Art Consumption Explored through a Methodology of Food Performance? If not, Cafe Nordo has an opportunity to engage in some delectable food performance! Through July 7, you can purchase tickets for The Champagne Widow, a musical cabaret performance illuminating the delight of champagne through this dramatic story of French women; war; discrimination;
and of course, dead husbands.
