BINTEL

Some Easter offers from Celestron, but first here's a great image of the M83, also called The Southern Pinwheel Galaxy taken by BINTEL customer Keven Lurie. Thanks for sharing your work Kevin and check out BINTEL on social media for complete details on this portrait of a one of the delights of our Southern Skies.

Celestron StarSense Explorer Telescopes

We get the question "What's a good telescope for beginners?" every day.

It's hard for us to pass up recommending the Celestron StarSense Explorer range. We've sold thousands of these telescopes and the feedback we get from our customers is extremely positive.

Starting at $349 delivered

BINTEL has Celestron StarSense Explorer telescopes ranging from $349 with free delivery until the end of the Easter long weekend.  Contact us for some friendly advice on which model is best for you.

Celestron StarSense

You have Maps or GPS for your car.

Why not for your telescope?

Celestron StarSense Explorer uses a special app on your phone to precisely point the telescope to exactly the planet or deep sky objects you want to observe or discover and learn about what else is in the sky tonight.

Type in what you'd like to observe, for example Jupiter or Saturn, and instead of instructions like "turn left in 100 metres" the StarSense Explorer will show you where to move your telescope - "up a bit further, a bit to the right" for example - to find what you're looking for.

Plus, just like your car's navigation, you don't have to use it if you don't want to.

We see keen young scientists take like ducks to water with these Celestron Microscope Kits. Learn about the world around us just beyond our sight.

Check out BINTEL Team member, Caro, braving the Sydney downpour to collect a water sample from outside our showroom, then bring it inside to discover what's in an everyday puddle.

The Celestron Microscope kit features magnification from 40x to 600x.

The high powers are suited for examining specimen slides of yeasts and molds, cultures, plant and animal parts, fibres, bacteria, and more.

Use the lower magnifications to examine objects like coins, rocks, insects and a host of tiny wonders.  There's a couple of slides provided but we can help with both blank and prepared slides.

BINTEL also has the digital version of this kit for $158. This includes a camera that attaches directly to your PC.

How to Calculate the Date
for Easter ...

The Moon via NASA

Image via NASA

Why does the date of Easter move each year?

Easter traditionally is related to the northern hemisphere spring equinox. While that date only varies by a day or two, the date Easter falls on moves around.

Easter falls on the first Sunday after the full Moon that falls on or after March 21st. If the Full Moon is a Sunday, Easter is celebrated on the following Sunday.

As the date of the full Moon around this time will change from year to year, so will the date of Easer.

Those following the Orthodox church will normally celebrate Easter a week later.

Stay safe everyone!

Remarkable rains and extreme weather continue right across the country.  Hopefully all the members of the BINTEL Family manage to stay during this difficult period. We're sure we're all looking forward to clear skies and getting back to nature when conditions improve.
