Celebrate 6 years of Cary Quilting!

Our wonderful shop celebrates 6 years of business on January 26th, 2019! The day we opened feels like forever ago and yesterday all at once. We have lots going on to celebrate! Enjoy giveaways every single shop hour from 10 am on Friday 1/25 through 5 pm on Sunday 1/27. We will have some special anniversary sales too!

January 25 - 27: Studio Art Quilt Associates Trunk Show of over 50 art quilts in our Meeting Center.

January 26: Join us for Fairy Hair, appointments available

We have new sewing machines for you to use, free of charge, courtesy of Capital Sew & Quilt in Cary.

The Sewing Room, a Mystery Quilt with Rosi

Begins January 19th

Do you like a mystery? This will be a fun journey! We will have 12 meetings from January 2019 to December 2019 and you will create a quilt top by the end of the program. You choose fabrics you love to work with, and instructions and help are available along the way.

Kim Diehl's Whatnots Club with Sabrina

Begins Jan. 22 or Jan. 26

Choose a Tuesday or Saturday morning club with Sabrina and create 8 wonderful mini quilts using the Wit and Wisdom collection by Kim Diehl. Club Kits are available here.

Freestyle Batik with Kathie

February 2, 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Students will learn the basics of Batik using a variety of utensils to create designs on pre-treated cotton with wax then dyed with Procian fiber reactive dyes.

This class is for everyone, minimum age 16.

Longarm Quilting News

Did you know that we have a Show and Tell page on Facebook, just for showing off what you've created?

Made by Laura from the Wolf in the Woods pattern, this is perfect for your favorite Wolfpack fan!

We are proud to partner with Carole of From My Carolina Home in her efforts to provide quilts to our NC neighbors who were so profoundly affected by the 2018 hurricanes.

Whether you are making a quilt specifically for this cause, or you have one finished and sitting on a shelf in your home, all quilts welcome. Do you have a completed quilt that you could part with for someone who lost everything?

The latest reports are that over 4500 homes have been totally destroyed and more than 700,000 homes have sustained damage mainly by flooding. As you might guess, we need a lot of quilts. We are asking for twin, full or queen size quilts, as the need is so great that each household can only receive one quilt. Likely most will not receive a quilt at all unless we have a huge response to this project. The project will continue through summer of 2019, so there is plenty of time to make and ship, or drop off a quilt.

Cary Quilting Company is glad to be a drop off site for this generous project.
