New tasks

There have been a number of new tasks uploaded to the ATB. These include:

• C2B1 John and Lucy
• C2B1 Tax File Number
• C2C1 Checkout Job
• C2C1 Power Outage
• C2G1 Real Estate Agent
• C2I1 Cleland Wildlife Park
• C2O1 The Answer is Yoga

Thanks to all the teachers and providers who sent these in. I also have a backlog of about 40 validated tasks from February that I will be working to get up over the next few months.

Numeracy tasks

We are hunting down some numeracy tasks for the National Working Group to validate over the coming months. Numeracy is a big gap on the ATB and teachers are looking for some additional guidance in this area. If you have some numeracy tasks for any level, we would really appreciate it if you could contribute them to the ATB.

Reset your password

At NEAS we often get requests to create new logins – which we are more than happy to do. But about 50% of the time, the requests are from people who already have a login. If you have been with the AMEP for some time, or have forgotten your password, you can quickly and easily reset it yourself using the “Forgot password” button on the login page. Typically this will get you access to the ATB quicker than having us resend the welcome email.

Forums

We are excited to offer some forums dedicated to AMEP teachers. These are available for you to discuss ideas, exchange clever ways of doing things and finding out how your colleagues have already solved those curly problems you are struggling with.

Grab a login from http://www.neas.org.au/forums/ and help build these forums into a valuable resource for all AMEP teachers from Broome to Bendigo!

Mapping

As a project with the National Working Group, we have started mapping all of the tasks on the ATB. This is to help all the providers demonstrate compliance with ASQA requirements and a handy check of the tasks we already have. We felt it would be a much easier task if we had all the contract regions working together on this, rather than everyone mapping all the tasks they use individually. We aim to get two tasks mapped per region, per term. In this way, they should all be done by the end of 2016.

A huge thank you to all those teams who have so far helped out with the mapping.

Validation Feedback

The National Working Group has given us feedback that the hard working teachers who contribute tasks to the ATB would like feedback from the validation process. In the past we haven’t had a mechanism to do this. But recently we have developed a validation checklist that will be sent back to the tasks author so they can benefit from the validation team’s comments and discussion.

We hope you find this a useful tool and don’t forget to note any you receive on your professional development record.
