The Feather
Chief's Corner

Hello Brothers,

I would like to congratulate and welcome our 19 newest members who joined the Order of the Arrow this past weekend. I would also like to commend everyone in attendance for being truly unselfish in service and devotion to the welfare of others.

Thank you to everyone that made it to Section Conclave and to those that helped in AIA. Achieving first place took many hours of practice, hard work, and dedication to our performance. This year we were able to obtain first place in both ceremonies and dancing. We would not have been able to accomplish this achievement without the wonderful leadership of Jeff Triplett, Maggie Hanflink, and Josh Hanflink. They were able to coordinate over a dozen dancers and have a solid ceremonial team put in place. As a lodge, we hope to continue this momentum into 2022 and keep on the path to another successful year.

WWW,

Anthony Mills

The 2021 Cardinal Conclave was held at Camp Bowers in White Oak, NC during the weekend of April 16-18. Due to COVID, attendees spent their weekend with the same “cohort” participating in activities such as shooting sports, cooking, climbing, water sports, or American Indian Affairs.

Lodge 70 was well represented during the weekend and completed a near sweep of the 2021 Cardinal Conclave Awards. The awards won during the weekend were:
•    SR-7B Cardinal Conclave Honor Lodge
•    SR-7B Cardinal Conclave Quest for the Golden Arrow
•    SR-7B Cardinal Conclave Spirit Award
•    SR-7B Cardinal Conclave Communications Award
•    SR-7B Cardinal Conclave Inductions and Ceremonial Events (ICE) Award
•    SR-7B Cardinal Conclave American Indian Affairs Award (2 years in a row)

Lodge 70 American Indian Affairs (AIA) showed the outstanding quality at the 2021 Cardinal Conclave. The AIA team members won or placed in every category during the competition. Below are the competition categories and Lodge 70 members.

Congratulations to all Lodge 70 competitors!
