DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS EXTENDED!2021 Community Festivals & Events Program CALL FOR APPLICATIONS With the current shutdown across the Province of NS, the deadline for applications is extended to Friday, May 21, 2021, to allow groups and organizations more time to get their applications prepared and submitted for consideration. Festivals and events are an important contributor to the tourism industry. The Community Festivals & Events Program supports festivals and/or events with the potential to generate new visitation as well as those with the potential to better serve existing visitors to the Island, thus increasing length of stay and spending. The program has a particular emphasis on supporting events that are outside of the peak tourism season. Destination Cape Breton, in partnership with the Island's five municipalities and ACOA, are calling for applications for potential funding assistance to eligible incorporated, not-for-profit organizations on Cape Breton Island that organize festivals and events. It is important that all applicants please read the Program Guidelines carefully before completing the Application Form. Both are included in the Application Package.
