Alleviant Medical Inc., an Austin, Texas-based startup developing a minimally invasive, implant-free device for the treatment of chronic heart failure, closed a $75 million investment. S3 Ventures and RiverVest Venture Partners co-led the round, which included participation from Vensana Capital, Longview Ventures, TMC Venture Fund, Gilmartin Capital, ShangBay Capital and others.
Grey Wolf Therapeutics, a U.K. and Australia-based drug discovery startup focused on immuno-oncology, completed a $49 million Series B round co-led by Pfizer Ventures and Earlybird Venture Capital. New investors Oxford Science Enterprises and British Patient Capital also contributed to the round, along with previous backers Canaan and Andera Partners. Sally Dewhurst of Oxford Science Enterprises, Emma Johnson of British Patient Capital, Rabab Nasrallah of Earlybird Venture Capital and Marie-Claire Peakman of Pfizer Ventures were appointed to Grey Wolf’s board.
Tado°, a Munich-based intelligent home climate management provider, snagged a €43 million (about $47 million) investment. Led by Trill Impact Ventures, the round included additional support from Bayern Kapital, Kiko Ventures, Swisscanto and Target Partners.
ReLive Biotechnologies Ltd., a China-based tissue engineering and regenerative medicine provider, landed $36 million in Series A funding. Led by Shanghai Healthcare Capital, the round saw participation from Indaco Capital and Jiuyo Capital. In addition to the funding, ReLive closed its acquisition of all operating assets of Germany-listed biotech company Co.Don AG.
RapidDeploy Inc., an Austin, Texas-based provider of 911 mapping and analytics technology, picked up $34 million in growth capital. Lead investor Edison Partners was joined by GreatPoint Ventures, Morpheus Ventures, GM Ventures, Ericsson Ventures, Tao Capital Partners, Clearvision Ventures, Tau Ventures and others in the round.
Smile Digital Health, a Toronto-based health information technology provider, secured $30 million in Series B growth capital led by investors including UPMC Enterprises.
AtomicJar, a Newark, N.J.-based software testing startup, raised $25 million in Series A funding. Insight Partners led the investment, which included participation from boldstart ventures, Tribe Capital, Chalfen Ventures and others. Jon Rosenbaum, managing director of Insight Partners, will join the company’s board.
Meati Foods, a Boulder, Colo.-based maker of alternative meat products from mushroom root, added $22 million in Series C funding from Revolution and Rockefeller Capital Management.
Gemba, a U.K.-based virtual reality workforce training platform, nabbed $18 million in Series A financing at a $60 million valuation. Parkway Venture Capital led the round, with General Partners Jesse Coors-Blankenship and Gregg Hill joining the board.
iLife Technologies, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based provider of a sales tool for life insurance agents, raised $17 million in Series A financing led by Foundation Capital, Brewer Lane Ventures and SCOR Ventures.
Method, a provider of debt repayment tools, fetched $16 million in Series A funding. Lead investor Andreessen Horowitz was joined by Truist Ventures, SV Angel, Abstract Ventures, Y Combinator, Ardent Venture Partners, Cameron Ventures and Leonis Capital in the round.
Property Meld, a property maintenance software platform, collected $15 million in Series B funding. Led by Frontier Growth, the round included contributions from Vesta Ventures, South Dakota Equity Partners and Badlands Capital.
