May Engagement Event HighlightsInteroperability Thanks to everyone who attended our event on May 31 at Hotel 540 and contributed to the lively discussion. The evening began with a presentation by special guest Dr. Douglas Kingsford on EMR Interoperability in support of the Patient Medical Home. Ron Gorospe and Jo Styles from PSP presented on the panel management process and the results of their pilot project with a number of physicians in March. Executive Director Monique Walsh spoke about ER data and Dr. Servaas Swart presented some recent highlights related to physician recruitment. After dinner, attendees divided into three groups to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of developing networks in the community. A number of common themes emerged and we captured a lot of valuable feedback on the topic. The results of the session are being compiled and a summary report will be shared with you. Thanks to all who attended, and a special thanks to our presenters! If you could not make it and are interested in any of the materials, have questions, or are interested in discussing network development with us, please email Maren Luciani, Project Lead. Those who attended were also able to tour the facility and meet the team members. We're looking forward to hearing more about the great work at the SHWC. Thanks to all who came out! Want to refer a patient to the SHWC? The referral form and all information is now on Pathways! Attention Kamloops Primary Care Providers! The general surgeons, with funding from the Specialist Services Committee (SSC), have launched a new initiative called Centralized Referral Solutions (CRS). CRS is a surgical referral process that provides Primary Care Providers with one place to send their general surgery referrals. This provides one central place with one standard referral form. The transparent solution ensures everyone involved receives confirmation of referral receipt, distribution, and in the future even wait time expectations. This solution takes the guesswork out of which surgeon to refer to, given surgeons have subspecialties. If you are interested in joining, please add “Kamloops Centralized Referral Project” as a Provider in Med Access. You can also call Andrea Zazzi at 250-319-8039 or email centralreferral@gmail.com to get more information.
