IMPORTANT: Seeking Expressions of Interest – Calvary COVID-19 Surge Workforce

Date: 17 September 2020

To: All Hospital Employees

From: David Izzard, Head of People & Culture

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, Calvary is making every effort to prepare for a potential COVID-19 outbreak, such as the ones we are currently witnessing in Victoria.

As a large health care provider, our response includes preparing a suitably trained Calvary workforce to mobilise within Calvary and potentially to other organisations should additional support be required in response to COVID-19.

We are therefore putting out a call for employees who may be willing to be redeployed to assist in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak. We are particularly looking for experience in aged care, ICU and ED, however welcome any employee with medical/surgical experience.

We acknowledge this will be hard yet rewarding work, and there is a chance employees may be working within a COVID-19 positive environment.

Employees who are interested to be considered for redeployment to other Calvary services and Calvary’s partner organisations can register their interest by completing the below form:

COVID-19 Expression of Interest Form - Click here to submit

If redeployed, Calvary will fund travel and accommodation arrangements – including meals, accommodation and flights where necessary.

In addition, employees redeployed outside of their local area will receive a non-taxable Living Away from Home (LAFHA) allowance of $276 per week. This is in recognition that employees will be living away from their home for a period of time. Employee wages will be paid as per their existing terms and conditions.

Thank you for all that you are doing to care for patients and their families during this particularly challenging time. Your continued support through the COVID-19 pandemic is much appreciated.

Sincerely,

David Izzard, Head of People & Culture
