On New Year's Eve, the sun didn't rise and thousands retreated to our surf clubs where lifesavers stood up with skills, compassion and support for their communities. No one asked them to do it but they were there, and our iconic red and yellow uniforms became a lifesaving beacon through the dark, thick smoke. What our lifesavers did is remarkable and as a result, the community now has a much deeper understanding of our capabilities on and off the beach. This full-length video reveals some of the stories of strength and heartache of our lifesavers and the wider community.
