Karen Milward & Mark Stone Aboriginal Economic Development in the Latrobe Valley The Board will host a day in the Latrobe Valley to share economic development opportunities involving the local Aboriginal communities and businesses. Geelong Aboriginal Employment Agreement Working Group The 12 signatories of the Geelong Aboriginal Employment Agreement have formed a working group to share learnings and discuss opportunities for Aboriginal employment. The Agreement continues to deliver with success, with one of the signatories, Barwon Water, recently welcoming eight Aboriginal trainees, out of a total of 13 trainees, for the next 12 month program. Other Victorian Government job opportunities are available here. The Victorian Government recently announced $750,000 for the Latrobe Valley Authority to establish the Growing Regional Opportunities Work (GROW) Initiative in Gippsland, which will encourage collaborative work to address disadvantage in areas of high unemployment.
