Registrations for live online fitness classes open in July too with new dance-based and mens health focused programming from the Active Parramatta Van. New Parramatta Aquatic and Leisure CentreParramatta's contemporary aquatic and leisure centre has reached a new milestone as the Development Application (DA) has been lodged. Adopt-a-Plant ProgramThe City of Parramatta will be celebrating National Tree Day a little differently this year. Due to COVID-19 heath restrictions, the community planting event has been cancelled. Active AbilitiesSport NSW have launched a fantastic exercise initiative called the Active Abilities Series- by people with a disability, for people with a disability! Each program is 30mins, can be done at home and caters to a range of sensory, intellectual and physical disability groups! Community Facilities, Sports Fields Reopen in ParramattaCity of Parramatta Council has reopened its community facilities and sports grounds, in line with the NSW Government's easing of COVID-19 restrictions. Council's community facilities - including halls, meeting rooms and community centres - are open for bookings to the public with increased health and safety measures in place based on current guidelines. There will be a limit of up to 100 people per venue. Sports grounds will reopen for outdoor sporting competitions from Wednesday 1 July for both adults and children. Further information can be found on the NSW Office of Sport website. Also, capacity at Council's pool facilities has been increased from 10 people to 18 people at Epping Aquatic Centre and 12 people at Macarthur Girls High School, in line with NSW Government restrictions. All facility and sports field users will be required to comply with current public health orders, hygiene and physical distancing conditions while on the premises. Bookings for Council community facilities and sports grounds are now being accepted. New and Improved Timbergetters Reserve Tennis FacilityThe courts have re-opened after they were re-surfaced last month, we love the new blue and green colours! The North Rocks Ward Councillors allocated ward funding in order for this project to be realised. The kiosks have also had some refurbishing making the site a great social area for your next match. Remember when booking the courts to follow the current COVID-19 guidelines including social distancing requirements, maintenance of good personal hygiene and observation of Public Health Orders. Book a court at Timbergetters Reserve Binalong Park Tennis FacilityThere have been a number of exciting improvements happening at the tennis facility including court re-painting, pickleball lines and upgraded amenities which adds to all of the great features of the popular park. If you are asking what is pickleball it is a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, find out more at Pickleball Australia’s Website. Please note you do have to bring along your own equipment.
