I know that many people are concerned about conflicting messages about COVID-19 and that many of you are worried about your children and families. In light of the current health pandemic and the need for self-isolation, I understand some students cannot currently attend school. Our families should be confident that decisions have been and will be made regarding the impact of COVID-19 on our school community are based on the concern and compassion for every person. ![]() Message from Executive Principal Hastings Secondary College - Ian Ross I personally would like thank all of our families and students who are working in supermarkets, chemists and others retail suppliers and in the medical and health care professions who are dealing with unprecedented demands. Below is a message with specific advice from our school counsellors for you as a parent and carer. ![]() Online Learning Hastings Secondary College is operational. For students who are currently absent from their campus or in self isolation we have an online model to support our student learning. Teachers are currently creating resources for students to use in a variety of modes; this includes booklets of work, online learning links and direct contact via email. These resources focus on improving Literacy and Numeracy and will be updated regularly. The intention is that students work through the activities. The links can be used as a self paced learning or to facilitate current assessment tasks which students are encouraged to continue working on. ![]() Important Information 2020 ![]() Students Technology Options From Home Dear Parents and Carers Could you please answer the questions at the below link to inform us how we can best continue your child's learning in the event that schools are closed or you choose to keep your child isolated at home. ![]() Hastings Secondary College Upgrade Project Community Engagement - POSTPONED The NSW Department of Education has introduced proactive measures, including social distancing and travel restrictions, to limit the impact of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in our schools.
