Her name is Sofia, and she is a 16 year old from Germany who loves to make her own clothes, make art, and play tennis. She would arrive in August and depart in June after the school year has ended. Oh, Scrap is more than just a scrap quilt book. It has inspiring and creative ideas for scraps of all kinds. In the preface of the book, written by Barbara Brackman, she gives a brief and interesting history of scrap quilting and its popularity. Lissa offers good advice on how to organize and chose the fabric for your scrap quilts, using precuts (the new scraps) and her inspiration for each pattern. There are tips and tricks for each of the patterns with alternate color options and color swatch cards. The twelve patterns range from beginner to confident quilter in varying sizes using squares, half square triangles and strips. The photographs are beautifully taken showcasing the finished quilts.
