Wide Backings

We have lots of new wide backing fabrics at Cary Quilting! Wide backs allow you to finish a quilt without seams or extra work for your quilt back. We always recommend pre-washing backings though :)

Current Class Offerings

Perfect 1/4" Seams Class with Rosi

Join Rosi in September or October to perfect your 1/4" seam! The basic foundation for good quilting, this class will start you off on the right foot!

Free Motion Quilting with Kim

In this three-hour October class, you will learn the basic skills for free motion and free form quilting which will help you finish your projects yourself. We will discuss choices for threads, needles, and quilting designs. Appropriate for Beginning quilters.

Scrap Buster Coasters with Julie

Great to make for keeping or gifting! We will use free form paper piecing to create fun stripes and triangle patterns. If you have never done paper piecing before, no worries! This style of paper piecing is very impromptu and forgiving.

Longarm Quilting Updates

We now offer appointments with our terrific longarm quilting team. When you make an appointment, one of our quilting team members will dedicate that time to discuss your project with you when you bring it in.

We are currently accepting projects for November completions.

Want to knit or crochet for a great local charity?

Our owner, Julianne volunteers with a program through SAFEchild called Moms Supporting Moms. Each mom in the program receives a handmade purple cap for her baby. Knitted caps help remind them about the Period of PURPLE Crying, a normal, although frustrating, period of increased crying all infants experience in the first few weeks to months after birth. Intense frustration with an infant’s inconsolable crying is the number one reason someone has a momentary loss of control. The caps will educate everyone about the normalcy of crying and serve as a reminder that it is never okay to shake or harm an infant.

If you'd like to donate caps, they should be sized for a 4-6 week old baby and be handmade of soft yarn. Choose any technique or pattern.
