We are so excited to be in London for the IIC’s 50th anniversary year where it all began for the IIC back in 1969! This packed week of events covers a variety of issues all of which will affect us in the future including (but definitely not limited to!): AI, Cyber security and Fake News. The Week kicks off with the International Regulators’ Forum, open to all regulators, followed by the Small Nations Regulators’ Forum. There will be a reception for everyone to celebrate the opening of the Annual Conference, with two packed days of talks and discussions with the major players within the sector, as well as a gala reception at the House of Lords. Registration is open and places are filling fast, so secure your place today. Our members tell us that the relationships they make endure beyond the Week, and knowledge gained at IIC events makes a significant and lasting difference within their organisations. As an organisation always looking to the future, we know that upcoming people are as important as upcoming trends, and I am delighted, therefore, to announce the winner of this year’s Future Leaders’ Competition, Angel Fu, Associate at Clifford Chance, Australia. She will be presenting her winning entry, entitled Playing Fair in the Platforms Playground - A Case for Regulatory Neutrality and International Cooperation, at our 50th Annual Conference. Thank you to all the IIC members who supported this year’s competition through sponsorship, judging the entries, or publicising it within their organisation. As always, our newsletter contains a roundup of the latest Chapter news, industry updates and highlights from around the regulatory world. If you have a colleague whom you think would benefit from connecting with us, we appreciate you passing this on, and we look forward to welcoming you to one of our events soon.
