Here are a few featured upcoming classes:New Class & New Instructor: Flower Pounding with Rheta Flower pounding is a wonderful technique – using live flowers and foliage – that makes an impression of your floral design on fabric. All you need is a hammer! The natural dyes in the plant material are literally pounded into PFD (prepared for dying) fabric. Learn to make the oval Jelly Roll Rug using one jelly roll and pre-cut batting. You will learn a special technique to stitch the rug together while keeping it flat. Portrait Quilt Retreat with Julianne This intensive workshop is designed to get you started on your portrait quilt journey. We will cover creating a pattern from a photo, the applique layering technique, color matching, creating realistic features, and completing the applique of one main subject. New Class! Beginning Bag Making Class with Tim Inexperienced at bag making or just want to learn the basics with an experienced bag maker? The pattern used for this class is an easy free downloadable pattern that results in a nicely sized, fully functional tote bag. Measuring in at around 18” wide x 12 ½” high, your finished bag would be great for a grocery run, day at the beach, or endless other possibilities! Learn Machine Applique with Rosi Join Rosi to learn the basics of machine appliqué. Class will include instructions for completing 4 sets of machine appliqué motifs. At the end of class, students will have practiced appliquéing circles, squares, rectangles, triangles and heart shapes of various sizes. Beginning Quilt Making with Kim Learn the skills needed to complete a 4 Block Sampler Quilt top, including rotary cutting and piecing techniques, piecing the blocks, adding sashing and borders, and basting your quilt in preparation for quilting. Kim will also demonstrate basic machine quilting techniques using a walking foot and straight or wavy lines.
