The latest English Quality Language Teaching Quality Assurance agency to join QALEN is the Languages Canada / Orion partnership whose membership has over 200 language service providers.
Languages Canada engaged Orion Assessment Services, a third-party independant audit firm, to develop and implement its independant Quality Assurance Scheme.
Chief Executive of NEAS Mark Raven welcomed Languages Canada / Orion to QALEN with the comment that "Languages Canada represents QALEN's first multi-lingual Quality Assurance provider, opening the door for greater representation from other jurisdictions."
“As the standard setting and representative body for Canada’s language education sector, Languages Canada is looking forward to learning and contributing to the continuous improvement of standards with quality partners,” says Julian Inglis, Business Development and Program Manager, ELP, at University of Guelph and Languages Canada Board member.
After completing the mapping of principles and process, QALEN's MOU signatories number 7 agencies across 12 jurisdictions and include NEAS, FELTOM, ACCET,
English New Zealand, ABLS, Accreditation UK and now Languages Canada / Orion.
“This new partnership signifies the importance of collaboration between standard setting and accrediting bodies and the great advantage of harmonizing accreditation schemes,” says David Huebel, President of Orion Assessment Services of Canada.
