FOCUS ON A MEMBER Why organize a corporate event? In a world that has become increasingly virtual, an event allows people to meet and interact. Down through the ages, people have needed to celebrate, to strengthen human bonds and to maintain contact. According to recent studies, event communication is one of the marketing activities that offers the best return on investment. An event allows you to: We can all remember an event that had an impact on us. The spectacular events are the ones we talk about with emotion for years to come. Organizing an event that will be remembered leaves no room for improvisation... whatever your goals may be. REGIONAL NEWS FRANCE SHOW As in previous years, the FBCCI will be present at the France Show to be held 27th to 29th January 2017 at Olympia, London. For the first time this year, we will have our main 56m2 on the living style and tourism floor and a smaller stand on the property floor. We would be pleased to welcome all members or anyone from your networks interested in settling in France or requiring in depth information for such an important relocation. Although Brexit could be considered by some as a reason for not considering such a move, we feel the assistance which can be provided by the “one stop shop” offer of the FBCCI to be even more vital to a successful integration be it private or business. DIJON - BUSINESS CONFERENCE 05/01/16 22 employers' organizations met on Thursday 5th January at the Dijon business house in the Toison d'Or district. There were two guest speakers - Nicolas Bouzou, economist and author of the book "Innovation will save the world" and Olivier Campenon, President of the Franco-British Chamber. The main topics for discussion were Brexit, the election of Donald Trump and the rise of populism. Olivier Campenon gave an anecdote about the Brexit, stating, "I was elected on June 23, the day of the referendum. In the aftermath of the vote, a real earthquake was felt, which no one expected." He also recalled the fall of the pound sterling, "less than 15%, its lowest level in 31 years" and said that the most pressing concern for members was the European passport which might disappear in Britain, and its consequences for the 2 million Franco-British on both sides of the Atlantic. Nicolas Bouzou focused on the rise of nationalism, citing the examples of Trump, but also of Vladimir Putin in Russia. He discussed subjects like the migratory crisis, terrorism and the environment. For him, the world and Europe need more multilateralism to evolve.
