It has been a topsy-turvy few weeks in the strata community with the devastating fire of the Grenfell Tower in London. We can note that action has been taken by the QLD government to appoint a specialist audit task force to investigate potential sub standard buildings here in our state which is a real proactive approach to safety and developers adhering to building compliance regulations in the future. Our team have been out and about talking with committees regarding improvements and maintenance plans for their buildings and planning for future works. Its great to see so many committees getting involved to ensure their investment is looking ship shape for the years ahead. To top things off it’s the end of another financial year and it’s time to prepare all our personal and business financials for our accountants. ON LOCATION - This month we are highlighting one of our buildings that have recently had a fabulous makeover. Sunshine Towers is located on Sheridan Street, just a short stroll into the CBD of Cairns. This building was due for some love and what they have achieved we are pretty impressed. With a full exterior paint job in fresh new modern colours, change of location for their top level air conditioning systems which are now no longer visible. The re branding of their signage is uber cool with highlighting their website on the front of the building these are just a few of the long list of improvements made. Overall the body corporate for this building spent a considerable amount of money to bring this old beauty back into the spotlight. Why not book a night to see for yourself... whilst you are there check out their new "Dumpling Studio " Super tasty and they are using local produce too. GREAT JOB to all that were involved. 5th & 12th August - Racing Season is upon us here in FNQ. Ladies day on the 5th and Cairns Cup on the 12th just to kick things off. Why not get a group of people together and dress up for a day at the races. Its a wonderfully fun day for everyone.

Out and About - The TCM Strata team headed out to various community events this month as part of our TCM Strata community commitment program. We kicked off with Amanda who attended the Cairns Mayor Charity Golf Day that raised over $20K + for Mission Australia which will be incredible for all the programs that they provide our local community.
Lucy and Amanda attended the annual Couch Charity Luncheon where they were inspired by local and international triathlon athletes and got to hear from the legendary Michael Milton who is Australia fastest downhill skier. The auction was able to raise over $21K on the day and with TeamCOUCH they were able to raise over $70K these proceeds will go towards building the Couch Wellbeing Centre.
Camp Quality had a comedy night at Eatos on Grafton street where Amanda volunteered her time to help with ticket sales on the night and support the team to raise over $2k for kids with cancer.
