Headteacher: Mr Oli de Botton
Head of Middle School : Ms Anna Kyrk
Dear Middle School Parents and Carers, Welcome back to the new half term at School 21. Firstly, a huge thank you to all of our families for your ongoing support, we recognise that organising unexpected child care is very difficult, so appreciate all of your efforts over the closure. Thank you to many of our Year 6 students and their families for attending our day of learning, which was held at a local church, then moved to Stratford Picturehouse to see a film about the first men to walk on the moon. This fit in very well with their
project.
Thank you also to our Year 5 students and families who attended a wonderful day watching helium balloons explode, trying out hands-on experiments in the Wonderlab and generally having a day of exploration in the Science Museum
There were a number of events which required rescheduling due to the closure.
Black History Month This Friday 2nd November as part of the Black History Month celebrations, we will be holding a Middle School family film evening. Entry is £1 (this must be paid in cash on the door) which includes a drink and popcorn. We are looking to continue these family film nights as a regular event - please keep an eye on the newsletter for further information. As soon as we have done so, we will communicate the new information regarding the event. Parent Online Safety WorkshopOn Tuesday 6th November, from 8:40am the NSPCC will be in to run a parent workshop focused on online safety. As our Middle School children are very tech savvy, this is an opportunity for parents to come along and learn about helping your children to stay safe online. Please arrive at the front reception to sign in and staff will accompany you to the hall for the session. New Team
MemberThis term our new Assistant Headteacher for Middle School, Ms Akinsanmi has started. She will work as phase leader to support Year 5 and Year 6 this year. Ms Akinsanmi has just returned to the UK after working in a school in Cairo for the last two years. Prior to this, she worked locally for many years here in Newham, so some of our families may recognise her.
All other events will happen as advertised in previous newletters. Please watch out for the first official edition of this which will be sent out on Friday. Ms Kyrk
