Quality Learning Series - No Charge for Members for 2014!

With attendances hitting an all-time high, NEAS understands that the ELT sector requires Professional Development activities for front-line staff and senior managers alike, more than ever before.

In support of this need NEAS will be making the QLS a free service for members until the end of 2014.

"We want to make sure that this service remains free for NEAS members," stated Marion Bagot, Coordinator of Special Projects at NEAS, "non-members will be required to pay $195.00 per seminar, except for information sessions about Quality Endorsement, which are free to all."

The session calendar can be found here at neas.org.au/events

Do you have a Presentation you'd like to Deliver?

The NEAS Quality Learning Series is on the hunt for new talent.  NEAS are looking for speakers nationally, and so support your presentation with the venue, audience and marketing.  In return, you donate your time and profile to the higher cause!

If you have a session you would like to deliver that is pedagogical in nature, please send a short abstract with three references of people who will attest to your session's quality to m.bagot@neas.org.au.

Are you a High Schools ELICOS provider?

NEAS is acutely aware that there is substantial confusion around the way that schools are managed in the ELICOS sector, and that they often feel that they have "fallen through the cracks" between state and commonwealth regulators.  In response to this frustration, NEAS is working to link state legislation with the day-to-day regulatory elements, in order that your job is simplified and made more efficient.

NEAS recommends contacting Jan Collins j.collins@neas.org.au or Di Price d.price@neas.org.au on 02 9954 6077, and we will address your concerns, on a case by case basis.

NEAS Project for July - The Institute of Education and Training in Mongolia

The Institute of Education and Training in Mongolia have been quietly handing back to the communities that have supported them since 2011.  For the past three years, IET have delivered a series of summer camps in "literacy and numeracy", for local families who do not have the resources to afford the mainstream education system.
This clever and congruent use of EFL and ESL resources is provided on a pro-bono basis, yet attracts substantial support from Rotary in Australia.  NEAS is pleased to add its voice to IET's list of supporters.

If you have a project which you would like featured in NEAS News, please get in touch with j.batten@neas.org.au
