Melbourne Lockdown Strengthened and Extended.
The Premier today announced the current lockdown will be strengthened and extended across metropolitan Melbourne until at least 11:59pm, Thursday 2 September. This is an additional 14 days on the previous direction. The strengthened restrictions will commence from 11:59pm tonight. The night-time curfew will return from this evening and apply from 9pm to 5am each night. In addition, authorised workers will again need to carry work permits and large-scale construction sites will be reduced to 25 per cent capacity, or five (5) workers on site (whichever is greater). Industry has not yet been provided with specific details about many of these measures, including how the restrictions to construction sites will operate. Whilst we anticipate definitions may reflect those from 2020, this is yet to be confirmed. We will continue to provide updates to our members as soon as this information becomes available. Key updates for industry.
