This is a tough time right now with many businesses having to close their doors and individuals and families losing their usual sources of income. I know that many students rely on casual or part-time work that is no longer available to them. I wanted to remind you about our Financial Support Bursary for students who are experiencing financial hardship, including those who may be struggling to meet the costs of studying remotely. Details are provided below. Financial Support Bursary Curtin students experiencing financial hardship are eligible to apply for the University’s Financial Support Bursary, whether they are studying in Australia or internationally. This includes enabling, undergraduate, postgraduate and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students. Applications are assessed on the basis of the level of the student’s hardship and their demonstrated need, with regard also given to students from disadvantaged and equity backgrounds. Students can apply for cash payments of up to $1,500 to cover essential living and/or study expenses, including purchase of computing equipment/software and internet connection.
