On Tuesday18th July we had a great EMTC function for Night teams and others, hosted by the Bank of Melbourne. Thanks again to Chris Woods for organising this.

It was an opportunity for many teams to practice, and Wes' coaches gave “Doubles” coaching lessons.  We had over 60 people turn up and there was food and drink aplenty. It was a great opportunity for everyone to catch up, as we now have so many teams playing during the week.

I want to thank Bank of Melbourne, who are active "Grand Slam" sponsors at the club.  A number of our members have changed their accounts over to Bank of Melbourne. They are enjoying better rates, and the Club has received referrers fees to go towards development of our facilities. If you do want to support the Club by changing to BoM, please remember to go to the Chadstone or Malvern branch. When you are there, tell them that you are from East Malvern Tennis Club and we have a referrers agreement (this is important for us to recieve the $$).

I hope you enjoyed the Sponsors night and learnt the basics of match play doubles with your coach.

We are now holding a four-week learning block starting most week nights from next Monday 28th August covering all aspects of doubles from court positioning, strategy and team work. The fee is at a 10% discount rate of $100 per player [assuming 4 player per hour.]

Of course, if you can’t get the team along, you could always do a private or semi-private class most days/nights.
