WE STAND WITH YOUTo echo the Prime Minister's words, last Friday was one of our darkest days as a country. I am at a loss to think that such a tragedy could take place in our country. My hope for the future is that as a country we never forget this outpouring of love and support for one another despite our religious belief or ethnicity. May we go forward as a country without any form of prejudice. Today as a school we stood together with a number of parents to show our respects and solidarity. To the bereaved and the Muslim community our thoughts are with you. As Salaam Alaikum FRANKLIN UNITES FOR CHRISTCHURCHThis Friday 22nd March Pukekohe Ecolight Stadium Gates open 6pm 6:30pm start All Welcome Visiting Our SchoolWe would like to remind everyone that when visiting the school you need to sign in at the school office. This includes coming to meet with a teacher after school. Once you have finished at school you then need to sign out at the office. There are times when you don't have to sign in they are; school assemblies, sports days, open afternoons, Grandparents day, Ag day. If you are unsure about when to sign in please ask at the office. As a school we need to know who is on site at anytime of the day, this is in case of any emergency. Road SafetyIt has come to our attention that some students are being dropped off on the road side of the car park and running over the car park to come to the gate in the morning. This is very dangerous as it is very busy with cars reversing in and out of car parks. Another safety issue that has come to our attention is cars stopping on the road and waving pedestrians across. There is no pedestrian crossing outside our school and this should not be happening. Parents should be crossing their child and it is their responsiblity to do this safely not motorists. BlakeIn Blake room we are looking at an IB learner profile attribute each week. This week was open-minded. Mrs Prangley asked what open-minded was and gave the example: if a girl has curly hair and a girl has straight hair can they be friends? Blake student think that they can. They then shared their ideas about what it means to be being open-minded. HillaryHillary's Fitness incorporating Maths TaylorAs we finish up on our first Unit of Inquiry and start on your next we have been showing the Learner Profile Attribute Reflective.
