Backtrack Boys

Gather your friends and enjoy a free screening of Backtrack Boys, organised by ANTaR – Inner West on Monday 31 May at Event Cinemas Burwood. This observational documentary, follows boys in a youth program BackTrack set in the outskirts of Armidale. Registrations are essential.

Join the Youth Drop-In in Strathfield! If you are aged 12-24, come and hang out, play some games and relax with friends at the Strathfield Library & Innovation Hub on Thursdays 3.30pm - 8.00pm.

Connect to the Covid Vaccine

All Australians are encouraged to get the jab! Council is helping by adding a stop at the The Sydney West Vaccine Centre on the Strathfield Connector route. The bus is free and you can hop on at over 50 stops throughout the Strathfield Council area including Homebush, Flemington and Strathfield Stations.

Local Elections - 4 September

Save the date! Local elections will be held on Saturday 4 September 2021. Voting is compulsory, make sure your details are correct with the Electoral Commission.

Trooper Ernest James (Snowy) Craggs

Trooper Ernest (Snowy) Craggs of Enfield was just 19 when he rode into the famous Battle of Beersheba on 31 October 1917 with the 12th Light Horse Regiment. With bayonets at the ready they galloped across the open countryside, desperate to secure the water wells at Beersheba, Palestine. Sadly, Snowy was killed that day. Lieutenant Edward Ralston of Strathfield wrote to his parents to say that he ‘was full of spirit all through the long night ride. He rode into action just behind me and the last I saw of him, he was standing in his stirrups and cheering.’
