Last year we published Star Trek Fluxx and Star Trek: TNG Fluxx, so now it’s time for the next in the series: Deep Space Nine!

We’re pretty excited about this one because we know there are a lot of Star Trek fans who consider DS9 to be the best series and who’ve been patiently waiting for this version. Well, the wait is nearly over - Star Trek: DS9 Fluxx arrives on May 23rd!

Star Trek: DS9 Fluxx will be compatible with our other Star Trek Fluxxes, so that you can mix them together if you wish. Starfleet officers, for example, are all marked with the usual delta icon, making them count as crew members for Goals from other editions. O’Brien can fix a Malfunction from any version, for example. That said, this version is a bit different from the other two, since the show itself is pretty different. For example, we had to add a new icon to designate all those important characters who live on the station but who aren’t members of Starfleet. So while it will work to shuffle Star Trek: DS9 Fluxx together with either or both of the other Star Trek Fluxxes, we don’t have plans for a connecting pack like we did with the Bridge expansion.

Look for Star Trek: DS9 Fluxx wherever Looney Labs games are sold!

It’s been a year now since we released Get the MacGuffin, so now it’s time to bring out the first expansion for it!

Plan C is a pack of six new cards for Get the MacGuffin. They include several fun new options, such as the Third Eye, which allows you to look at the cards in the Tomb, The Time Traveller, who repeats a recently taken action, and of course, Plan C, which is kind of like a MacGuffin but not quite as powerful.

But perhaps the most exciting new card in the set is Don’t Do That, which provides the oft-request option to cancel another player’s card play out of turn. That’s right, now you’ll finally be able to do something about it when someone else plays a Switcheroo or steals the MacGuffin out from under you!

Plan C will cost just $5 and will go on sale on May 23rd!

Book Con

Kristin and Andy will have a booth where they will be demonstrating our games, signing autographs, and selling our full line of products to book lovers throughout the land. We'd love to teach you how to play Fairy Tale Fluxx or Nanofictionary. Or maybe you'd like a hilarious round of Mad Libs: The Game or Adult Mad Libs: The Game!

BookCon is the event where storytelling and pop culture collide. Experience the origin of the story in all its forms by interacting with the authors, publishers, celebrities and creators of content that influence everything we read, hear, and see. BookCon is an immersive experience that features interactive, forward thinking content including Q&As with the hottest talent, autographing sessions, storytelling podcasts, special screenings, literary quiz shows and so much more. BookCon is the ultimate celebration of books, where your favorite stories come to life.

Kristin and Andy will be attending this year, mostly to schmooze and play Looney Labs games wherever they end up being. On Friday afternoon, they’ll be running a big tournament for Get the MacGuffin, with a $100 prize! And on Saturday night, they’ll be attending the Origins Awards ceremony, at which two Looney Labs games are up for the Best Card Game award!

The Origins Game Fair is in an annual tabletop gaming convention held in Columbus, OH. Now in its 45th year, the event continues to grow and attracted almost 19,000 gamers last year!

Gen Con

Looney Labs will again have a tiny booth where they will be taking meetings, demoing their latest games, and selling a few Looney things!

Gen Con is known as "the best four days in gaming," and with good reason! With over 500 exhibitors and 19,000 events, it's no wonder that over 60,000 people flock to this event to play and see their friends! There's nothing quite like it... one of those bucket list kind of events for gamers.

Q: We miss seeing you at Origins. Are you ever coming back?

A:  Yes! This year, in fact! For those who may not know, Origins is a big gaming convention held every summer in Columbus, Ohio. For many years we were regulars there… we debuted Fluxx at Origins 1997 with our very first trade show booth, and from 2000 to 2011 we ran an increasingly elaborate event called the Big Experiment at Origins. But in 2012, we couldn’t go because Origins was moved to an earlier date, and we haven’t been back since. But this year, what with two of our games being nominated for the Origins Award for Best Card Game of 2018, we’ve decided to make last-minute plans and attend! We won’t have a booth of course… we’ll mostly just be hanging around, playing our games with whoever we run into. But we do have one event planned: we’ll be running one of our exciting “raffle-style” tournaments (with a $100 prize!) for Get the MacGuffin, one of our two nominated games! The other is Anatomy Fluxx, and of course it would be great if that were to win, but we’re worried about the split-vote factor, so we’re encouraging the attendees to vote for Get the MacGuffin. Anyway, Kristin and I (and also Dr. Leila Zucker, my co-designer on Anatomy Fluxx) will indeed be at Origins this year, and if you'll be there too, hopefully we can play a game together!
