February ENews No Images? Click here Hi everyone, Happy New Year. Sitting on a shelf in a Port Melbourne storage shed, one archive box looks a little flimsier than the rest. Blow off the dust. Remove the lid. Inside: dozens of neatly arranged manila envelopes, each inscribed in black marker with a location. Bairnsdale. Maryborough. Benalla. Geelong. Extract one. Open it… gently. On yellowing pages, typed or wonderfully handwritten, some five decades of arts council history. Newsletters, minutes, pictures, correspondence; buried treasure. Formed in 1969 as the Victorian Arts Council, in 2019 Regional Arts Victoria turns 50. Over the coming 12 months, we look forward to looking back on this milestone, and to sharing some of what we find with you. Year 50 is shaping up to produce a few treasures of its own. So scroll down for the latest edition of the Regional Arts Victoria eNews. See what you uncover.
