Important Notices:

It is important for the safety of our students and local residents that all parents who drive to school in the mornings and afternoons are adhering to the road rules.

We ask you all to consider the following:

- Do not speed on our surrounding roads as many families walk to and from           school and this compromises their safety.
- Do not park on the zig zag lines at the front of the school as this impacts on our students safely crossing the road.
- Do not park across the driveways of our neighbours, as this will disrupt access to their private property.

As a school we suggest walking or catching public transport to school to where possible. If you have to drive, there is often ample parking spaces a little further away from the school, which may also alleviate the congestion and stress of the morning.

We thank you for your cooperation on this matter and your consideration of our local community.

Late arrival to school results in interruptions to the learning process. Parents are encouraged to have students to school on time. Parents who come to drop their child to school after 8:30am start must come in to the office to sign-in.  All children need to be signed in using our new electronic system, which will change the class register to show that they are on school premises.
*Excessive tardiness to school may be referred to the Local Authority for action and possible court referral.

*School Uniform - Children must always come into school with correct full school uniform which includes tie and black shoes (black trainers are not acceptable). If your child comes to school in the incorrect uniform parents will be notified.  Please ensure that your child has the correct School21 PE Kit on PE days.

*Equipment - Parents please ensure your child comes into school with all the equipment and food they will need for the day.  The front office will not be responsible for taking things to classroom as this is disruptive to children's learning.

Robots in the Garden!

This week as part of the Year 5 project ‘How can we make our robot rule?’ we worked in small teams to complete 5 different build-then-program challenges using our new LEGO WeDo kits.

The teams created a moon rover that collected samples, a robot that pulls a load over rough terrain, a Morse code messaging robot, a claw that senses and grabs objects and an earthquake detector.

These experimental sessions will help the teams when they tackle the final product event. A time trial that involves 5 different challenges where teams will need to rebuild and reprogram to solve each challenge.

Overdue Library Books

Please return your overdue library books! We currently have over 700 books overdue. This means that students are unable to borrow popular books.

Students are allowed to borrow up to three books for a loan period of one month and can be renewed after this period should the need arise. Any books that are lost or damaged must be replaced.
