Dear member,
Welcome 2022 and a very warm welcome back to a new year with the Health Hub & Accelerator… oh wait, it is now the HEALTH INNOVATION HUB!
I am super excited to present to you the newly rebranded Health Innovation Hub with a well-defined vision and mission. Not just a change in name, the rebranding is also our commitment to having a more unified community of health entrepreneurs and the support that they need. We are the community incubator for innovators and entrepreneurs working towards better human health outcomes. Our mission is to build a health and life sciences innovation community in Alberta by providing programming support, access to space and training resources, coaching and consulting support and connections to peers and advisors, with the intent of increasing the commercialization success of health & life science technologies. The Health Innovation Hub aspires to be the go-to place for health innovators.
There are lots of exciting updates coming up as the new brand rolls itself out and we will be sharing them with you through the biweekly digest. In the meantime, don’t forget to check out the Folio article that featured the rebranding.

Health Hub & Accelerator is now Health Innovation Hub
We are excited to announce that our new name is now Health Innovation Hub. We have a newly updated website and a new mission and values, as well as new services to offer. Read more about the news here.
BDS Program Info Session

Hermay Labs has recently joined the Health Innovation Hub. They are a chemistry-based scientific laboratory dedicated to conducting leading-edge research and development. Learn more about the venture here.
A newly signed agreement between Entos and Lilly
Entos Pharmaceuticals has signed an agreement with Eli Lilly, giving the American pharmaceutical company exclusive rights to Entos’s Fusogenix PLV technology for $50 million now. Read more here.

The Accelerating Innovations into CarE (AICE) -Validate program supports Alberta’s health-tech innovators to accelerate the commercialization of digital and data-enabled health technologies through the early validation phase. The deadline for this year is Jan 14, 2022.
CanExport SME Program
Small and medium-sized companies may access up to $50,000 in funding to assist with international market development activities. We cover up to 50% of costs for export marketing of your products and services in international markets where you have little or no sales.
Student Work Placement Program
The Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) is an initiative to increase the job-readiness of students registered in STEM, healthcare, business, and all other programs at Canadian post-secondary institutions.
