Chalmers Road School students have been working hard on a waste and recycling art competition, and the results are amazing! These students are making a difference to our local environment by reducing, reusing and recycling waste. You can do the same by placing litter and cigarette butts in the bin.
National Bird Week starts on Monday and you can be involved by taking part in the national bird count! As Strathfield is home to a number of native and migratory birds, there are plenty for you to choose from. Your ‘eagle eyes’ could help determine how healthy Strathfield’s avian population is.

Principal Engineer, Civil Design Infrastructure & Development I find working at Strathfield Council rewarding as it allows me to use my civil and structural engineering skills to make a positive difference to the local Strathfield community. My responsibilities are infrastructure design management and infrastructure project management. Working at Council presents opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects, some of these have included roundabout designs in Homebush, kerb realignments to calm traffic in Strathfield and drainage design in Raw Square. The desire to improve services to the community is at the heart of every project our team completes.
Quisiana – Homebush Road‘Quisiana’ (or sometimes known as ‘Berelle’) is one of Strathfield’s most prominent 2 storey Victorian Italiante houses. It is located on Homebush Road and set on large landscaped grounds. Quisiana is heritage listed and was built in c. 1893 for its owner, Thomas Tate. The house was renamed to ‘Berelle’ when it was occupied by George Hindmarsh from 1909-1911.
