Carolina Hurricane Quilt Project
The Loose Threads bee of Cary donated 13 quilts last week!
We are accepting bed sized quilts for the Carolina Hurricane Quilt Project. Bring them in to the shop through August 1st and we will make sure they get to our neighbors who need them.
To date, 234 quilts have been donated! How many more can we donate this summer? This would be a great project for "orphan" blocks or to try out a new pattern or technique!

Book Review
Quilt Big by Jemima Flendt
I love this book! It’s a great way to make quick quilts using large prints or the feature fabrics that you’ve been hoarding because you don’t want to cut them up.
Chapter 1 goes over basic quilting tips and how to’s. But it’s Chapter 2 that has the best tips on upsizing your favorite quilt blocks. Yes, you’ll have to do a little math.
Chapter 3 offers 22 single blocks that are later used in 17 different quilts with a fun modern twist on traditional quilt blocks.
The instructions and diagrams are easy to follow and the photography showcases each quilt beautifully.
I highly recommend this book if you’re a beginning quilter, love large bold blocks or need a quick gift.
