No Images? Click here Dear friend of PLC This week has been a rollercoaster of finals for the girls in Year 12. The only finals remaining are to sit their final examinations and to attend Speech Night. We wish them every success for their WACE and IB Diploma examinations, safe in the knowledge that they have developed the skills, resilience and confidence in their own ability to ensure that on examination day they can achieve their personal best. The WACE results and Universities Admission Advice Letters will be online from Tuesday 19 December 2017 and the IB Diploma results will be made available by the IBO from Saturday 6 January 2018. Whilst the girls are firmly focused on the upcoming examination period, we also appreciate that in the background, many are still postulating about their post-schooling pathways. The support provided for the girls to navigate this path does not cease with their final examinations. As they start the next chapter, our Careers Team continue to be available to support and help navigate the road into 2018. Further information detailing the support provided will be circulated to the girls in the near future. Whatever their final result, we are confident that these inspiring young women are equipped with the skills to challenge the status quo, the courage to make a real difference and the potential to have a positive impact as leaders in their chosen pathway. Early this week, McKinsey & Company released a sobering report about Women in the Workplace. This report provides a snapshot of corporate America and outlines current workplace experiences with respect to gender, opportunity and work-life issues. It is clear there is a pressing need to do more. Whilst it demonstrates that organisations are committed to gender diversity, it is obvious that progress is slow and that there are many blind spots that need exposing. Findings
